St. Joseph's College of Engineering and Technology, Palai won the Kerala State Akshaya Oorja Award 2018 in Educational Institutions category. The Award is given in recognition to the selected enterprises, organizations and individuals who have made systematic and serious attempts for efficient utilization of Renewable Energy, Research & Promotion of renewable energy technologies.
Saintgits College of Engineering students team comprising of Mr. Alwin Emmanuel and Ms . Rose Mol James along with their guide Mrs. Beena A.O has participated in the Student Engineering Model Competition (SEMC) organized as part of 5th India International Science Festival (IISF)- 2019 at Kolkata during 5th to 8th November 2019, sponsored by DST , Govt. of India . The team won 1st prize in the theme 'DIGITAL INDIA' for their model "COST EFFECTIVE SMART BRAILLE PRINTER" . The team also won 2nd prize in the overall competition among 500 colleges from different parts of India that have participated in the competition. It has been announced in the valedictory function that the team will be invited to meet Honorable President of India and the product shall be taken up as part of Digital India project of Govt. of India.

A Memorandum Of Understanding has been signed between YNOT INNOVATIONS PRIVATE LIMITED AND KERALA POLICE CYBERDOME at KERALA POLICE HEADQUARTERS, TVM. The purpose of the MOU is to develop Smart portable Traffic signal system named 'Neo Tree'
